This is a basic outline
of what can be done, these
days will be personalised to
meet your days needs.
Introduction:
These golf days are designed
to give the golfers a day
that will hopefully
transform their whole
approach to the game. All
golfers are extremely
nervous of a teacher
interfering with their
swing. The reason is that so
many golf pros offer
conflicting ‘solutions' to a
given problem which can only
result in further confusion
and further deterioration of
their confidence. The Gammon
approach does none of that.
It teaches, in crystal
clear, simple form, how the
swing is supposed to work.
It then demonstrates how
simple the swing is and that
swing thoughts should be
reduced to the minimum.
When the golfer
understands all the
principles he is able to
swing in his own style, but
with a renewed confidence of
knowing WHY he is doing it.
The subtle changes that he,
the golfer makes from the
lesson results in immediate
improvement. The golfer's
reactions when they correct
a 20 year-old swing problem
are a pleasure to see!
The Corporate Golf Day
Structure
9.00am The
golfers arrive. All caddies
are personalised with
Golfers' names appended.
Caddies introduced to
players and caddies take
players' bags.
9.15am
Tea/Coffee served.
Introductions all round. Don
& Muss highlight the day's
proceedings and what each
player is to expect and the
benefits that should accrue
after the clinic. (See
explanatory notes above).
Sponsored shirts, tees,
balls and other
paraphernalia are issued at
this time, if appropriate.
9.30am
Players move to Driving
Range where the caddies have
assembled their clubs
alongside their named tee
box. The golf clinic
commences whereby Muss and
Don proceed to give a 2 hour
comprehensive, but simple,
demonstration of the swing,
including Long iron, short
iron, chipping, putting and
bunker play. All
participants are fully
included in this intimate
teaching school.
11.30am
Players retire to the
clubhouse for a light lunch
during which time (1,5
hours) Muss and Don chat to
each of the players centring
on their individual faults
and fixes.
1.00pm The
players tee off in 3-ball
configurations. This enables
both Muss and Don to each
play up to 9 holes with each
three ball giving hints,
tips and golf course
management advice to enhance
their games in future. These
5 hours are important for
all participants to
interface with each other,
become more acquainted with
each other, all made easier
through the common
realisation that they have
all been brought down to
base level in golfing terms,
which in turn, creates a
camaraderie and a light
heartedness that makes this
day so memorable.
Evening Shower followed by
drinks, superb snacks, and
light-hearted story-telling
from everyone! At this time,
if appropriate, the sponsor
may wish to join the
golfers, and would be
welcome to give a talk on
its own business. The
parties depart.
Summary:
It is normally during drinks
that all participants
volunteer the comment that
that this personalised,
intimate golfing day far
outweighs, in enjoyment
terms, the now rather boring
“corporate golf day” that
starts with 120 golfers
playing a game in batches of
4, and ends up with the same
4 having drinks before
departing. There is little
that is memorable about it,
except that it's better than
a day spent in the office.
During the Gammon Golf Day
however, the golfers
unquestionably feel that
they have made definitive
improvements to their
swings, have learnt how to
approach the course and its
management, and furthermore,
they have got close to, and
made friendships with, 2 top
celebrity professionals. On
the social side they have
had an excellent time with
their colleagues and, from
Muss and Don, have gained an
insight into the private
lives of many PGA
professionals.
